8.3. Attaching cable grommets and fixing strain relief in place
Important preparatory work
1. Checking the cable diameters and elasticity.

Check the cable diameters and elasticity of all the cables to be connected.

A cable grommet suitable for the diameter and elasticity of the cable must be used.

Bear the following points in mind when selecting a cable grommet:
- The grommet must completely surround the cable.
- The opening of the grommet must be slightly smaller than the cable diameter.
NOTICE : If a grommet is used that is too large or too small, the device will not be properly
sealed.
2. Preparing the required cable grommets and dummy grommets.

Remove the required cable grommets and dummy grommets from the cable sealing set
(using scissors, for example).

Cut the grommets off as cleanly as possible at the separation point so that they fit into the
cable openings and seal them tightly.

Cable grommets and dummy grommets should be cut off as cleanly as possible. This is
important in order to seal the industrial PC well.
