The above part number/s must be installed in pairs. As a pair, the units
provide secure data to be passed in one direction only.
The McPC Giga-MediaLinX (PCI) provides a single conversion between
10/100/1000 Base-T twisted pair and 1000 Base-SX/FX fiber. This device
Auto Negotiates speed and duplex on the copper port and the fiber 1000
Mbps, FDX. The media converter supports jumbo frames up to 10240 MTU.
The McPC Giga-MediaLinX (PCI), fixed fiber transceiver model, includes one
10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 connector and one 1000 Mbps SC fiber connector
that can support multi-mode fiber. The PCI bracket must be installed in a PCI
slot in a PC. No drivers are required for this product line; it converts from fiber
to copper and uses a 4-pin peripheral power supply connector.

INSTALLING MCPC/GIGA-MEDIALINX (PCI)
Offering plug-and-play operation, the McPC/Giga-MediaLinX (PCI) comes ready
to install, utilizing power from the PC’s power supply.
To install the McPC/Giga-MediaLinX (PCI):
1. Turn off the PC.
2. Remove its cover.
3. Find an empty PCI slot.
4. Align the McPC/Giga-MediaLinX into the slot.
5. Screw the McPC/Giga-MediaLinX into the computer case’s bracket.
6. Make sure the McPC/Giga-MediaLinX does not extend past the edge of the
case.
7. Attach the keyed mini-power connector to the McPC/PCI-Giga-MediaLinX.
8. Attach the male end of “Y” connector to one of the computer’s standard size
power connectors.
9. Replace the cover.
10. Attach the cables between the McPC/Giga-MediaLinX and the devices that
will be connected.
