Step 5

Remove the protective cover from the terminal block (e.g. Power A) 
as follows:

a) Using the screwdriver size 1, completely remove the two fixing 

screws from the protective cover to the terminal block 

b) Take off the cover and lay it aside with the screws as it will be 

required later.

Step 6

Using the Phillips screwdriver size 2, remove the three terminal 
screws from the terminal block and lay these screws aside for later 
use.

Step 7

Inspect the terminal block for damage. Do not proceed if one or more 
terminal screws are damaged! 

Step 8

Follow 

Step 9

 when connecting one of the following cable types to the 

shelf:

•

CBL/DC/300/2AWG16/TB

•

CBL/DC/300/3AWG14/TB

•

PC300/3WIRE/RED/BLACK/14AWG

If you want to connect a CBL/DC/300/3AWG14/FLT/R-/B+ to the 
shelf, continue with

Note

Not all protective covers come with captive screws, therefore be 
careful to retain the screws. Fixing screws (shown in 

Figure 28

) can 

fall off and become lost when the protective cover is mounted or 
removed.

Note

A damaged terminal block must not be replaced in the field! The 
damaged power supply unit or the whole 1HU Shelf must be returned 
to ADVA Optical Networking for repair.
