Uncrating the System
The system arrives completely covered by two layers of plastic and
enclosed in a steel strapped, wooden shipping crate.
To uncrate the system:
Caution:
Examine all of the Shock and Tilt indicators located on the crate
panels. If any one of the indicators indicates that the machine had been tilted
or jolted, do not proceed. Immediately contact your ADT representative. See
"Initial Inspection" on page 11.
Caution:
Only when the Shock and Tilt indicators
have not
been disturbed,
begin to uncrate.
Danger:
You are about to remove the steel banding strips that secure the
crate. Protect yourself when removing these strips as they are under tension
and can spring open with force when cut.
1.
Cut and remove the steel banding strips that secure the crate.

2.
Remove the screws from around the outer edges of the top of the crate
and remove the top of the crate.
Danger:
Take extra care during the next step as the two remaining side walls
of the crate will come apart at the same time when the screws are removed.
3.
Remove the screws along the edges of the side wall panels of the crate
and individually remove the side panels.
4.
Carefully remove the anti-static plastic sheeting that covers the
machine. If you use a knife, make sure that you do not come into
contact with the machine or the cartons beneath the plastic.
5.
Open up the heavy plastic sheet and carefully pull it off of the
machine and cartons.
6.
Remove all the accessory and spare part cartons to a safe location
where they cannot be damaged as you uncrate the machine.
