Modifying patterns

You can edit an existing pattern to
create a new one. You can also edit a
pattern and save it under its original
name. Any new and existing objects
painted with that pattern are painted
with the new definition rather than with
the old definition.

To modify an existing pattern:

Make sure that nothing is selected in

your artwork.

Choose Object

>

Pattern.

In the scrolling list, select the pattern

that you want to modify, and click Paste.
The pattern tile is pasted into your doc-
ument as ungrouped artwork.

Click OK.

Use the selection tool to select art-

work in the pattern tile, and edit the tile.

Select the pattern tile.
