Creating masks

A masking object can consist of a single
path or a compound path.

To mask objects:

Draw or select the object you want to

use as a mask.

Make sure that the object is on top of

the objects you want to mask.

When masking objects on different
layers, keep in mind that objects on
intermediate layers become part of the
masked artwork. See
