In the Format area, select Across All Columns and Side Heads. This allows first-level 

headings to span both areas of the text frame.

On the left side of the Paragraph Designer, click Update All. (If FrameMaker 7.0 

notifies you that some paragraphs use format overrides, click Remove Overrides.) This 
changes all paragraphs tagged Heading1 and also changes the Heading1 format in the 
Paragraph Catalog.

 

Heading moves to the left edge of the text frame.

 

Next you’ll change the font properties of Heading1 paragraphs.
