Exporting and Importing Structured Files

 

WWP converts FrameMaker 7.0 documents to HTML documents using templates, a set 
of macros that reads MIF files and writes HTML or XML files. If you want to stay within 
FrameMaker to create files from authoring to the Web, you can do that with Structured 
FrameMaker 7.0. If you want to create your FrameMaker 7.0 files and then convert them 
separately, WWP is there for you. A WWP User’s Guide is included in the FrameMaker 
7.0 directory. A WWP Training CD is packaged with the FrameMaker 7.0 materials.

WebWorks Publisher gives you the ability to reuse content from your print 
documentation in online deliverables. You start with tagged content, a valid Structured 
FrameMaker 7.0 file. Your content might contain paragraph tags, character tags, markers, 
tables, conditional text. You set up mappings in WWP so that, for example, a Chapter 
Title paragraph tag becomes HTML <H1> output. WWP can also automatically map 
several styles to their corresponding FrameMaker styles.

A WWP project consists of a list of the FrameMaker source documents to be converted 
and a list of FrameMaker components (tags) and how they will be converted, and support 
files used during the conversion (a .css file), and the output generated (HTML, XML 
files).

from your FrameMaker 7.0 program disk.

 

Creating a WWP project file for HTML conversion

 

WebWorks helps you to create multiple outputs from one set of FrameMaker 7.0 files.

The New Project wizard takes you through the steps specifying what you need. As in 
Structured FrameMaker 7.0, you have two views; in WWP there is the application window, 
the shell of the application, and the project window, which displays the project’s hierarchy.

To create a WebWorks Publisher project, you associate your FrameMaker book with a 
template.

The project launcher window is displayed.
