The next time you save as HTML, FrameMaker 7.0 converts this marker to a link to
www.adobe.com. The active area of the link will be defined by the character format you
applied (the Link format).

Creating an image map

An

image map

on a Web page is a graphic in which different areas of the image are defined

as links to other locations. You’ll import a graphic into the FrameMaker 7.0 document
and set it up so that it converts to an image map when you save as HTML.

Go to the first page of the document and click at the end of the third body paragraph

(the sentence ending with

our knowledge of electricity

Choose File > Import > File, navigate to the art folder within the Lesson15 folder, and

click Imagemap.tif.

Be sure that Import by Reference is selected and click Import.

In the Imported Graphic Scaling dialog box, click 72 dpi and click Set.

) on the right side of the document window to open the

Tools palette.

Use the text frame tool (

) to draw a text frame over each of the three panels of the

graphic, as shown, clicking Set in the Create New Text Frame dialog box that appears after
each drag. (If you can’t easily make the frame the right size, choose Graphics > Snap to
turn the snap grid off.) The placement of each text frame will determine a “hot spot”
(a clickable rectangular area) of the image map. When you’re finished, close the Tools
palette.
