To change size of template thumbnails:
Choose Thumbnail Size from the palette menu,
and then choose Small Thumbnail, Medium
Thumbnail, Large Thumbnail, or Details. (Details
displays a large thumbnail plus information about
the template.)
Opening templates in InDesign
When you open a template, an untitled copy
appears and the Template Browser palette closes.
You can work in the untitled copy just as you work
in any other document.
To open a template from the Template Browser
palette:
Do one of the following:

Double-click a template.
•
Select a template, and then choose New
Document from Template from the Template
Browser palette menu.
Note
: If you don’t want the palette to close
automatically, deselect Close Palette After
Opening Template from the palette menu.
Working with the Metadata area
You can add metadata to a new template or edit the
metadata stored with an existing template. When
you create a new template, you can use the
Metadata area of the Template Browser palette to
add descriptive information about the contents of
the document. For existing templates, most of the
metadata that appears in the Metadata area is
view-only; however, there are a few editable
metadata fields, such as Author, Description,
Production Notes, and Keyword. Editable fields
appear with a text box for adding or changing the
metadata information.
Note
: The Metadata area includes information on
the fonts and color swatches that are used in the file.
Make sure that the proper fonts are installed.
The information you add is embedded in the file
using XMP (eXtensible Metadata Platform). XMP
facilitates the exchange of metadata between
Adobe applications and across publishing
workflows.
Metadata area of the Template Browser palette
To edit a template’s metadata in the Template Browser
palette:

Select a template.

Click the metadata field you want to edit and
add the metadata information.

When you are finished, click the Accept Edits
button .
