OptiCAM™ Introduction
OptiCAM™ is a high-resolution security camera
capable of transmitting 60 frame per second video
through standard Category 5 cable using RJ45
connectors.
OptiCAM™ uses a high quality CMOS image
sensor, and its compact size enables it to be
mounted on table, wall, or ceiling. All signal and
power is carried by one cable, with no external
power supply required – making for fast and
convenient installation.
Important Safeguards and Warnings
Prior to installation and use of this product,
observe the following safeguards and warnings:

Only operate this unit in accordance with these
instructions!
x
Always observe proper polarity, and be sure to
use a regulated 12VDC power source! Failure
to observe power specifications will void the
factory warranty.
x
Do not attempt to service the product, as there
are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer
servicing to qualified service personnel.
x
Refer to the instructions for installation and
removing camera components.
x
Handle OptiCAM™ with care. Improper
handling or storage could damage the camera.
x
Do not expose OptiCAM™ to moisture, or try to
operate it in wet areas. Should OptiCAM™a
become wet, immediately turn power off and
refer servicing to qualified personnel.
x
Never face OptiCAM™ towards the sun, even
when not in use! Use caution when operating in
the vicinity of spotlights or other bright lights
and light reflecting objects.
x
Do not operate OptiCAM™ beyond its
temperature, humidity or power supply ratings.
Use the camera under conditions where
temperatures are within –5°C to +45°C, and
relative humidity is below 80% (non
condensing).

Selecting Mounting Location
OptiCAM™ may be mounted on tabletop, wall or
ceiling. Choose a location that:
x
Provides the desired coverage area,
x
Can be reached with a RJ-45 connection, and
x
Does not exceed environmental ranges.
Installation
To install the camera:
1. Separate the bracket from the camera body.
2. Select the desired cable routing (left, right,
top, or back). If using top or back wiring,
punch out the appropriate knockout on the
bracket, then route the cable through the
bracket.
3. Select the appropriate mounting screw
holes, then secure the bracket to the
mounting surface.
4. Connect the RJ-45 connector to the socket
on the rear of the camera body as shown.
5. If using left or right cabling, remove the
appropriate knockout on the camera body
and route the cable.
6. Snap the camera body into the bracket and
adjust for proper coverage area.
Sun Shield Installation
If desired, snap the Sun Shield (supplied) over
the lens to prevent unwanted glare from
entering OptiCAM™.
