Mounting Your AUA-7500A for Internal Use
To install your Adaptec Media Reader:
1.
Turn off power to the computer and disconnect the power cord.
2.
Open the computer cabinet, following the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Caution:
Discharge any static electricity build-up by
touching a grounded metal object (such as the exposed
metal parts on the back of your computer).
3.
Prepare the drive bay for the installation of a new drive, following
your computer manufacturer’s instructions.
4.
Hold the Adaptec Media Reader by its sides, top side up, and insert
it into the drive bay, aligning the screw holes on the side of the
Media Reader with the mounting holes of the drive bay.
5.
Secure the Adaptec Media Reader in the drive bay, using the
screws provided.
Caution:
Secure
both
sides of the Adaptec Media Reader,
using all four screws. Securing only one side may cause
the device to warp and fail.
6.
Connect the USB cable to an internal USB port, following your
computer manufacturer’s instructions, or the instructions that came
with your USB host adapter.
Note:
If you don’t have an internal USB port or a USB
terminal on your motherboard, Adaptec recommends
the Adaptec USB2Connect AUA-5100 PCI USB 2.0 host
adapter.
