Storage Management Software Overview
Your RAID controller kit includes the following software tools:

Adaptec Storage Manager
—Storage management application
software used to create, configure, and manage arrays.
■
Adaptec RAID Configuration (ARC) Utility
—Part of the
controller’s built-in BIOS code that contains the following
components:

Array Configuration Utility (ACU)
—Used to create,
configure, and manage arrays.
–
SATA
Select
—Used to verify the hardware configuration of
the controller and drives.
–
Disk Utilities
—Used to format and verify drives.
For details about any of these storage management tools, refer to
the
Adaptec Serial ATA II RAID 1420SA Installation and User’s Guide
.
The Adaptec 1420SA Controller
The Adaptec 1420SA controller is shown as follows. Note the
position of the Serial ATA interface connectors necessary for
attaching the Serial ATA disk drives.
