2.3 Real-time peak-listing mode (PKL option)
Overview
The real-time peak-listing is an optional acquisition mode of the SA230E (PKL option).
The ADC module captures signal peaks and provides their characteristics.
The waveform pulses are selected and analyzed in real-time. The pulse parameters such as peak
time-stamp, peak amplitude, and center of mass are provided in output.
The acquisition and analysis of a signal record can be performed while reading the result of the
previous record, minimizing dead time between successive record analysis.
This mode allows to perform the analysis of a higher volume of signal data in real-time, providing in
output only the characteristics of the relevant waveform peaks. In case of input saturation, the number
of sample in overrange is provided.
Description
Principe
The peak-list mode is based on a multiple-record acquisition. It assumes the regular occurrence of a
trigger condition which periodically segments the data acquisition.
Multiple pulses can occur in a same record. For each record, the successive pulses are identified, then
a set of characteristics is computed for each of them. The driver returns the time-stamp and
characteristics of each selected pulse, in a stream of descriptors.

The peak-detection is applied to each triggered record. Several pulses can be analyzed within a same
record. For each peak, parameters are computed e.g. amplitude, center of mass, width...
