1. Introduction
The aconno “RootMeBaby” is an IOT Gateway which can be used to scan, interpret and
redirect bluetooth low energy advertisements to cloud services. It uses the OpenWrt
operating system and works with BLE technology.
The device can also work as a normal router. It has the capability of working as a wifi
access point and can supply the users with internet.
All settings are adjustable through an easy and modern graphical user interface.
The purpose of this document is to show how to use and configure “RootMeBaby”.
It will guide the user from accessing the device, to configuring the information storage
endpoints, scanning format and message formatting.
● Changing router name and password
● Changing BLE to cloud configurations

● Starting scanning process
1.1 Assembly
Please mount the antenas on the side of the device. Insert the provided BLE adapter into the
USB port and power the device by connecting the white cable to micro USB port in the device.
2. Device Connection
To connect to the router:
A. Please click on your wireless connection icon.
B. After clicking the icon you will see a list of wireless devices.
C. Select the router with the name “RootMeBaby”.
D. After selecting the router a small window prompting will be shown prompting for
the password. In this window insert “!aconno!”
E. Press the OK(depending on the OS it might be Join, OK or else) button.
F. Now you are successfully connected to the device.
