consumed will be priced using the current rate in the Time of Use configuration. The funds
available will not be adjusted based on energy received from the premise to the network.
When the supply is disconnected because available funds are exhausted, the meter will not
reconnect the supply until additional funds are allocated or the prepayment functionality is
disabled. The meter will allow for short-term reconnection when funds are exhausted.
Automatic Disconnection: Safety Alerts
The SGM3000 Series meters will provide functionality for supply disconnection when tampering
is detected or when other safety related events occur. The following disconnection events in
this section will be treated at the same priority level:
•
Excessive Current
The SGM3000 Series meters support an automatic disconnect when excessive current being
drawn by the premise is detected. When the functionality is enabled, the service will be
disconnected if the current from the most recent momentary interval of data exceeds the
current threshold. If a current threshold value of zero (0) is set, the meter will not check for
excessive current. When the supply has been disconnected due to excessive current, the
meter will be set to the armed state ready for reconnection at the premise.
•
Unauthorized Electronic Access
The SGM3000 Series meters will disconnect the service automatically if unauthorized
electronic access has been detected, as defined by successive incorrect logins using the AMI
system or locally via MeterMate. The set number of incorrect logins is entered in total
number of login attempts.
When the functionality is enabled, the service will be disconnected for a defined period of
time if the number of successive incorrect logins exceeds a defined limit. When the supply is
disconnected due to excessive failed logins, the meter will be armed for reconnection after
the disconnection period has elapsed.
•
Meter Cover Removal
The SGM3000 Series meters support an automatic disconnection of the supply when
removal of the meter cover is detected. When the functionality is enabled, the main supply
will be disconnected when the meter cover is removed. When the meter cover is replaced,
the meter will be armed for reconnection.
Automatic Disconnection: Under Frequency Load Shedding
The SGM3000 Series meters support automatic disconnection of the main supply/auxiliary
load if the supply frequency from the network is below a predefined threshold for a
predefined period of time. The under frequency load shedding functionality will be
applicable to both the main supply relay and the auxiliary load control relays. While the
functionality is the same, the thresholds and other defining parameters for the functionality
will be configured independently and the hierarchy will be treated independently.
