15 Information and maintenance of the battery part
15.1 Autonomy
The autonomy will depend on several parameters:
•
the total weight of the wheelchair in charge,
•
the difference in your journey,
•
the frequency of stops and then restarts,
•
outdoor temperature (batteries do not like cold and can lose up to 40% of their performance below 5 °c).
In General, we find a autonomy of
18km with a lithium-ion battery of 24V 6ah .
15.2 Maintenance and running of the battery
For proper operation in time, the battery must be regularly run at least once a year. A break-in consists of
making 5 cycles of discharges and full loads to the battery:
• Put the battery in charge and let it charge at 100% if it is not already the case.
• Use the battery until the last red light is on.
• Put the battery in charge and let it load at 100%, the first cycle is complete.
Note: you can make a run-in cycle once a year (5 loads + dumps) to keep good performance as long as possible.
15.3 Cleaning
The cleaning of the battery is done using a slightly damp cloth.
Do not use detergent or flammable or corrosive products.
15.4 Storage
The battery must be stored off , protected from moisture and cold.
In case of prolonged storage, remember to recharge the battery every month.
