9 Maintenance and cleaning

The welding power source does not require maintenance under normal operating conditions. Despite the
above, scheduled maintenance and cleaning are prerequisites for a long service life and fault-free
operation.
We recommend splitting cleaning into two parts. The first step is to remove dust from the extraction device.
Regularly removing dust can lengthen the service life of the filter cartridges. The second step is to
mechanically service the filter unit. The maintenance cycle is determined by the work environment and by
the length of the scheduled intervals between maintenance of the devices. The maintenance cycle is usually
three months. If the device is operated for more than 8 hours a day, the maintenance intervals should be
changed as needed. When using arc welding equipment, always observe the provisions of EN 60974-4
Inspection and testing, as well as any national laws and regulations.

DANGER

Risk of injury due to unexpected start

The following instructions must be adhered to during all maintenance, servicing, assembly, disassembly
and repair work:
► Switch off the power source.
► Close off the gas supply.
► Disconnect all electrical connections.
► Switch off the entire welding system.

WARNING

Health risk caused by inhaling harmful dust

The device contains harmful dust that can collect on surfaces and penetrate the ambient air as of the first
use. This can damage the respiratory tract when inhaled.
► Check and wear your personal protective equipment.
► Only use the device in rooms with sufficient ventilation.
► Ensure that all seals on the device are free from dirt and debris.
► The provided filtration system must be used when operating the device.
► The dust collecting drawer must be closed when operating the device.
► Do not open the dust collecting drawer for at least one minute after the device is switched off.
► Immediately remove dust deposits from the environment with a dust class H industrial vacuum cleaner

or a damp cloth.

Electric shock caused by incorrectly installed and damaged cables

Use of damaged or improperly installed cables may result in a potentially fatal electric shock.
► Check all live cables and connections for proper installation and damage.
► Have any damaged, deformed or worn parts replaced only by a qualified electrician.

Limbs can be crushed if device components are improperly installed or uninstalled.
► Keep your hands out of the danger zone.
► Check and wear your personal protective equipment.
