VP - 3.17 X-Axis Solenoid to Rack Guide Adjustment

Purpose: Perform this procedure to align X-Axis Solenoids with Rack Guides.

1. Perform Check procedure

“VP - 3.16 X-Axis Solenoid to Rack Guide Check” (Page 3-55)

CAUTION:Do not loosen Rack Guides to perform this adjustment.

2. Adjust Home Sensor for proper alignment of Solenoids to Right Rack Guide (

and

Figure 3-26, Page-3-58

a. Loosen Right (Home) Sensor screws.

b. Adjust Sensor bracket until X-Axis Solenoids align with Rack Guide.

c. Put Sample Loader in Manual Mode

Press and Hold MAN and START.

Turn Power ON, hold keys down until BEEPING stops.

Remove racks.

Ensure X-Axis Solenoids are aligned with Right Rack Guide. Check with a straight edge.

d. Check Right Rack Guide by moving X-Axis Solenoids (X

→

) 1/2” (1cm) from Right Stop (high

motor speed). Press (X

→

) to move Solenoid to Right Stop (Home) in small steps (slow motor

speed) to prevent Sensor overshoot.

e. Ensure neither Solenoid extends beyond the Rack Guide. Check with a straight edge (
