7.1.4 

Running the display test

A short display test is always run, when auxiliary voltage is connected to the IED.
The display test can also be run manually.

All the LEDs are tested by turning them on simultaneously. The LCD shows a
set of patterns so that all the pixels are activated. After the test, the display
returns to normal state.

7.2 

Indication messages

7.2.1 

Internal faults

Internal fault indications have the highest priority on the LHMI.
None of the other LHMI indications can override the internal fault
indication.

An indication about the fault is shown as a message on the LHMI. The text

Internal Fault

 with an additional text message, a code, date and time, is

shown to indicate the fault type.

Different actions are taken depending on the severity of the fault. The IED tries to
eliminate the fault by restarting. After the fault is found to be permanent, the IED
stays in internal fault mode. All other output contacts are released and locked for
the internal fault. The IED continues to perform internal tests during the fault
situation.

The internal fault code indicates the type of internal IED fault. When a fault
appears, record the code so that it can be reported to ABB customer service.
