Replacing the LCL filter module with H381
1. See Step-by-step drawings for an installation example of standard drive configuration
in Rittal TS 8 800 mm wide cabinet on 243 :
•
Disconnect the LCL filter module from the drive module.
•
Undo the screws that attach the LCL filter module to the cabinet frame.
•
Attach the extraction ramp to the cabinet base with two screws.
2. To prevent the LCL filter module from falling, attach its top lifting lugs with chains to
the cabinet frame.
3. Pull the LCL filter module carefully out of the cabinet preferably with help from another
person.
4. Install the new module in reverse order.
Capacitors
The drive intermediate circuit employs several electrolytic capacitors. Their lifespan
depends on the operating time of the drive, loading and ambient temperature. The lifespan
of the capacitor can be prolonged by lowering the ambient temperature.
It is not possible to predict a capacitor failure. The capacitor failure is usually followed by
damage to the unit and an input cable fuse failure, or a fault trip. Contact ABB if a
capacitor failure is suspected. Replacements are available from ABB. Do not use other
than ABB specified spare parts.

Reforming the capacitors
If the drive module has been stored for one year or more, reform the capacitors. See page
39 for information on finding out the manufacturing date. For the reforming instructions,

Control panel

Replacing the control panel battery
1. Turn the lid on the back of the panel counter-clockwise until the lid opens.
2. Replace the battery with a new CR2032 battery.
3. Put the lid back and tighten it by turning it clockwise.
4. Dispose of the old battery according to local disposal rules or applicable laws.
