Example 2: Location of accelerometers on vertically mounted motor
On the Drive End of motor, pointing in the direction of shaft. DE Axial 1
Mounted perpendicular to the shaft direction near the center of
the rotating machine. DE Horizontal 2
Mounted perpendicular to the shaft on the top/foundation of
the rotating machine. DE Vertical 3
On the Non-Drive End (NDE) of the motor, pointing directly to-
wards the bearing. NDE Horizontal 4
Fix the mounting pads
Before installing the accelerometers, fix the mounting pads to the surface of the
monitoring asset. For technical specifications, see

pads (page 71) .
