Synchronisation on NeXspan 50/500 with CSI
8.5.1
Principle
In a configuration comprising several (contiguous) PBXs fitted with a CSI card, you do not need
to wire the DECT base stations with a third pair for synchronization. Multi-site DECT
synchronization on NeXspan 50/500 requires the RHMIC/RHMIC2 and BCSI cards to be
installed. The RHMIC/RHMIC2 card is connected to the rear of the back plane of shelf FPHBG2/
FPS on the HMIC connector (NeXspan 50/500). It is fitted with two 96-pin connectors for
connecting the BCSI card and the synchronization cable. The BCSI card, connected to the
RHMIC/RHMIC2 board, synchronises the USB boards in NeXspan 50/500s to provide a
synchronous multisite DECT network offering DECT mobiles the inter-site handover function.
The BCSI board sends or receives the DECT synchronization and the 2.048 MHz bit
synchronization to/from another PBX; it determines the compensation to make on the DECT
clock received according to the distance of the transmitting PBX and retransmits the clocks
received to the CSI card.
The BCSI board has two synchronization ports (RJ45 connectors): a secondary DECT S port (in
output) and a primary DECT P port (in input), compatible with those of M6501L/R IP and
NeXspan S/L/D PBXs.
