Operating Slides and Magazines
3.1
Preparing slides and magazines
This chapter demonstrates how to prepare slides and magazines. You can use slides and
coverslips that meet the following specifications:

0.90 to 1.2 mm

Warning!
Always wear personal protective equipment (safety goggles, gloves, and coat) when
working with biohazardous material or slides.
Warning!
Do not use a slide when it is broken, or its edges are not properly cut or grounded. Using
such slides can lead to injury.
Warning!
If the scanner is equipped with a 40× objective, the outer rim of the sample should be at
least 3mm distance from the slide edge on the left side, since the working distance of the
40× objective is 0.25mm, therefore, the objective edge may collide with the stage edge
during digitization.
