Creating the powder bed
Operations described below complement and follow on from the Preparation Assistant "Step 6 : Powder bed" on page 42 .
1 . Select the
Powdersmoothing.S
sequence from the sequence list .
2 .
Click on the “Start sequence” to execute the selected sequence : the carriage will smooth the powder from the feeding
piston .
3 . Select the
GapFilling.S
sequence from the sequence list .
4 . Specify the iteration number, and the powder raising .
5 .
Click on the “Start sequence” to execute the selected sequence : the carriage and scraper will spread the powder and
stop just before the sintering piston. Then, the sintering piston will move up and down, so powder will fill the gap
between the piston and its sleeve .
6 .
Repeat step 3 up to filling completely the gap. Then, continue with next step.
7 . Select the
PowderBed.S
from the sequence list .
8 . Specify the iteration number, and the powder raising .
9 .
Click on the “Start sequence” to execute the selected sequence : the carriage will spread the powder on the sintering
plate .
10 . Check the proper completion of the sequences :
•
Gaps must be filled,
•
Powder must properly cover the area between the two pistons,
•
Powder must be well smoothed on the feeding piston,
•
Sintering plate must be visible in transparancy .

11 . If one sequence is not properly completed, re-run the corresponding cycle . Then check again .
