Safety Symbols and Definitions
The following are safety symbols that are common to 3D Systems guides. Some or all of these symbols may appear in this guide
and/or in other PostCure 1050 documentation.
CAUTION: INDICATES THE POSSIBILITY OF LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: INDICATES THE POSSIBILITY OF INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
Electrical Shock: HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICITY IS ACCESSIBLE IN THE VICINITY OF THIS SIGN OR BEHIND THE
ACCESS PANEL. HIGH VOLTAGE CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS OR DEATH, AS WELL AS FIRES. ACCESS PANELS
ARE FOR SERVICE ONLY AND SHOULD BE OPENED ONLY BY CERTIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL OR TRAINED
MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.
Hazardeous Material: INDICATES THAT SKIN OR EYE IRRITATION COULD RESULT WHILE EXPOSED TO A
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION
Wear Eye Protection: INDICATES THE NEED FOR EYE PROTECTION.
Wear Protective Gloves: WEAR THE APPROPRIATE GLOVES WHEN REQUIRED. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN TOUCHING
SURFACES THAT MAY CONTAIN OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO MATERIALS, WEAR NITRILE GLOVES. HEAT GLOVES
ARE NECESSARY WHEN TOUCHING SURFACES THAT MAY BE HOT TO ENSURE BURNS DON’T OCCUR.
Note: A note signifies important information but not information of a critical content.
CAUTION: Possible hazardous optical radiation emitted from the product. Do not stare at operating lamp. May be
harmful to the eyes.
Alarms and Warnings
If you encounter a fault or error, make sure to resolve before resuming operation.
2.1 PostCure 1050 Safety Switches
There are four safety switches on the curing system: all on the front doors. If the front doors are opened during curing, the unit
enters a paused state that turns off the LED curing lights and turns off power to the heaters. Once the doors are closed, the
curing job can be resumed.
2.2 PostCure 1050 Material Handling and Safety
To see Material Handling and Safety information for SLA and Figure 4 printers, please consult your printer's User Guide and/or
Material Guide here:
2.3 PostCure 1050 Environmental Safety
The following are environmental issues concerning the PostCure 1050:
Temperature
To allow optimum system operation and optimum part quality, the temperature of the PostCure 1050 system's location should
remain stable. The PostCure 1050 system's ambient temperature range is 13-30°C (55.4-86°F). We recommend an HVAC system
that changes the air six times per hour.
