The purpose of this appendix is to describe how to install the various distributions of the Linux

Operating System, on the V6100 Media Gateway.

This document targets RedHat

, Debian

and SUSE

distributions. It can also serve as a

reference when trying to install other Linux

distributions. These instructions have been verified

against the following distributions:

Before installing LinuxTM on the V6100 OSN Server, ensure you have the following:

Ethernet cable cord

External USB CD ROM or DVD ROM (not supplied by 3Com)

USB cable (not supplied by 3Com) to connect the external USB CD ROM to the V6100

RS-232 cable (supplied by 3Com)
