Stopping Installation
If you encounter fatal errors, which prevent installation from continuing,
complete the following:
1
Stop the installation by pressing the
Cancel
button.
You are prompted you for a confirmation.
2
Click
OK
to end installation.
When you abruptly quit installation before it successfully completes, you
leave your system in an unstable state, and you must take the appropriate
steps to reinstall the applications. See “Reinstalling Applications” in
Chapter 5 or contact your local 3Com Corporation Technical Support
office for additional information and assistance.
Resuming an
Interrupted or Failed
Installation
In the event that installation fails or is otherwise interrupted, you will
need to reboot your workstation. After you reboot your workstation, you
can restart installation.
Interoperability
Issues with
Traffix Manager 2.0
There are several interoperability issues between Transcend NCS and
Traffix Manager 2.0. The following information will be helpful to you if
you are running Traffix.
■
Agent images cannot be downloaded to probes if you install
Transcend NCS while Traffix Manager is still installed. Transcend
overwrites the system settings which tell the TFTP server where the
TFTP download folder is located. This prevents you from downloading
agent images onto probes.
To workaround this, copy the agent images from the Traffix
tftp
directory to the Transcend TFTP
upgrade
directory.
■
After uninstalling Transcend NCS, Traffix Manager will no longer be
able to upgrade RMON probe agents unless an alternate TFTP server is
properly configured.
To workaround this, edit the win.ini file to the following settings:
[3COM.NM]
HOMEDIR=<TraffixInstallPath>
TFTPROOT=<TraffixInstallPath>\traffix\tftp
TFTPTIMEOUT=5
TFTPTRANSMIT=2
