"MicroFlooter" R 1200 RT Zusatzscheinwerfer / Auxiliary Lights
1.
Nehmen Sie zunächst die Sitzbänke ab, klemmen
Sie den Masseanschluß an der Batterie ab und de-
montieren Sie die Tankabdeckung durch entfernen
der Befestigungsschrauben (Bild A).
2. Drehen Sie die Schrauben der vorderen, rechten Verkleidung he-
raus (Bild B/1) und nehmen Sie die Verkleidung ab, demontieren
Sie die innere, schwarze Innen-Verkleidung von der vorderen,
rechten Verkleidung.
3. Nehmen Sie den Staufachdeckel nach entfernen der beiden Be-
festigungsschrauben ab, drehen Sie die Schrauben des rechten
Seitenteils heraus (Bild B/2) und nehmen Sie das Seitenteil ab.
4. Ziehen Sie unterhalb der Ölkühlerabdeckung die Stifte aus
beiden Kunststoff-Spreiznieten heraus und demontieren Sie
die Spreiznieten. Ziehen Sie die Ölkühlerabdeckung etwas nach
vorne und stecken Sie die beiliegenden Blechmuttern von vorne
auf den inneren Kunststoffrahmen (R 1200 RT bis 2009), (Bild
C).
5. Demontieren Sie den an den Zusatzscheinwerfern montierten
Halter, montieren Sie die Scheinwerfer in den Aluhalter (Top =
oben) und verbauen Sie die Halter mit den beiliegenden Schrau-
ben M5x16 und U-Scheiben am Fahrzeug (R 1200 RT ab 2010
mit U- Scheibe und Mutter selbstsichernd), (Bild D), wobei die
seitliche Schraube auf der rechten Seite erst beim späteren
Anbau der Verkleidung montiert wird.
6. Schrauben Sie das Relais mit dem Massekabel an die Schraube
des Staufaches, verlegen Sie das Schalterkabel um den Tank
nach oben sowie das Scheinwerferkabel zwischen Tank und
Rahmen zu den Scheinwerfern (Bild E).
7. Schieben Sie ein Stück Schrumpfschlauch über die Scheinwer-
ferkabel, schließen Sie die Scheinwerfer an und schieben Sie
den Schrumpfschlauch über die Steckverbindungen sowie die
Lampenleitungen. Durch Erwährmen (z.B.Feuerzeug) legt sich
der Schrumpfschlauch passgenau über die Anschlüsse.
8. Verlegen Sie das rote Kabel vom Relais zur Batterie und schlie-
ßen Sie es am Pluspol der Batterie an.
9. Der Schalter wird nun an der gewünschten Stelle in der Ver-
kleidung montiert (z.B. in der schwarzen Innenverkleidung).
Bohren Sie hierfür vorsichtig ein 12mm Loch in die Verkleidung,
markieren Sie die Steckerbelegung am Schalter, ziehen Sie die
Stecker ab, montieren Sie den Schalter und stecken Sie die
Stecker in der richtigen Reihenfolge wieder auf (Bild F).
10.Verlegen Sie das schwarze Kabel vom Schalter nach vorne zum
Original-Verbindungsstecker am Hauptscheinwerfer, ziehen Sie
den Stecker ab, klemmen Sie das schwarze Kabel vom Schal-
ter mit der beiliegenden Kabelverbindung an das blau/graue
Standlichtkabel (Bild G) und stecken Sie den Stecker wieder auf.
11.Schließen Sie das Massekabel an der Batterie wieder an, über-
prüfen Sie die ordnungsgemäße Funktion der Scheinwerfer
und befestigen Sie alle Kabel mit Kabelbindern am Fahrzeug.
Achten Sie hierbei darauf, das keine Leitungen gequetscht
werden, den Lenkeinschlag begrenzen oder an Fahrzeugteilen
scheuern können.
12.Verschrauben Sie die schwarze Innenverkleidung wieder an
der vorderen, rechten Verkleidung und montieren Sie alle Fahr-
zeugteile in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wie bei der Demontage
wieder am Fahrzeug.

prior to and during the installation procedure.

Remove both rider and passenger seats. Discon-
nect the negative (-) terminal of the battery. Remove the tank
cover by removing the attachment screws. (Image A)
2. Remove the screws which attach the front, right fairing panel
(Image B1) and then remove the panel. Remove the air intake
tube on the right side as well.
3. Remove the radio/storage compartment lid after fi rst removing
the two attachment screws. Remove the screws which attach
the right side fairing panel (Image B2) and then remove the side
fairing panel. Now also remove the left fairing panel in the same
manner.
4. Just below the oil cooler, pull the plugs out of the spreading
plastic rivets located there and then remove those rivets. Pull
the oil cooler shroud to the front and push the supplied clip nuts
on to the inner plastic frame, from the front such that the nuts
lines up with the holes where the plastic spreading rivets were
located ( R 1200 RT up to 2009). (Image C)
5. Remove the brackets which are attached to the Micro Lights
(they will not be needed) and attach the lights to the supplied
aluminum brackets, noting that the lenses of the lights are
marked TOP. Using the supplied 5X16mm bolts and washers,
attach the brackets and lights to the motorcycle (for R 1200 RT
from 2010 use washer and nut). (Image D) The screws on the
outer ends of the brackets will be installed later in the installation
process, when the fairing panels are re-installed so leave them
off for now.
6. Attach the relay, along with the ground cable to the screw of the
radio/storage compartment. Route the switch wires around the
tank and upwards and route the Micro Light leads between the
tank and the frame. (Images E and F)
7. Place a piece of shrink tubing over the ends of the MicroFlooter
light leads. Connect the leads to the Micro lights and then slide
the shrink tubing over the connections and shrink by applying
heat with for example, a heat gun or lighter.
8. Route the red wire from the relay to the battery and connect it
to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
9. Now the switch can be mounted in the position of your choosing.
A suggestion is to mount the switch into the black inner fairing.
(Image H) Drill a 12mm (15/32”) hole in the desired location. Note
how the wires are connected to the switch, then disconnect the
wires, mount the switch and fi nally, re-connect the wires. *
10.Route the black wire from the switch to the left side of the fuel
tank and then connect that wire to the blue/gray wire of the ac-
cessory outlet lead with the provided wire connector. (Image G)
11.Re-connect the negative (-) battery terminal and then test the
lights for proper function. Attach the wiring neatly to the motor-
cycle using cable ties. When doing so, please ensure that the
wiring is position such that it will not bind, pinch or in any way
interfere with the steering or any other function of the motorcycle.
12.Reinstall the air intake tube and reinstall all remaining parts in
reverse order of disassembly.
* As an alternative to using the supplied toggle switch, you
may optionally use the AutoSwitch. The AutoSwitch uses the
turn signal cancel switch on the right handlebar to activate/
deactivate the lights and eliminates the need for an external
switch. Ask your dealer for details.
