CAUTION

Read all safety instructions carefully. Failure to comply 
with the following safety instructions may cause 
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

For your safety, this product must be installed in 
accordance with local Building Regulations. If in 
any doubt, or where required by the law, consult a 
competent person who is registered with an electrical 
self-certification scheme. Further information is 
available online or from your Local Authority.

Before commencing any work ensure the supply is 
switched off at the mains. Either by switching off 
main switch at the consumer unit or by removing the 
appropriate fuse.

As from April 2004 twin and earth wiring colours 
changed;

EARTH

Blue replaces black

To prevent a fire hazard always use the cable of correct 
rating, size and type for application.

Ensure all terminal screws are tight and all wires are 
neatly routed and not unduly stretched or pinched. 
All earth connections must be made and continuity 
maintained.

Where any earth conductor is a bare wire, it must be 
sleeved with green/yellow sleeving.

If connecting to a switch, the switched live conductor 
must be appropriately identified.

If drilling new holes, be sure to locate cables before 
beginning work, to avoid electric shock and damage to 
existing circuits.

GENERAL SAFETY

When working at heights, make sure you are using the 
correct equipment and follow all safety instructions. 
Make sure that your workplace is tidy, clear from 
debris, well lit and dry.

Siting Instructions

These units are Safety Extra Low 
Voltage and must not be earthed. 

1) This product is designed for use under kitchen 
cupboards, bookshelves, cabinets etc. Suitable for 
indoor use only. Not suitable for bathrooms.

2) Do not attach to surfaces which are damp, freshly 
painted or otherwise electrically conductive (e.g. 
metallic surfaces).

3) The chosen location should allow for the product to 
be securely mounted and safely connected to the mains 
supply (240v wall socket).  Alternatively, connect the 
supplied mains lead to a 3 Amp fused outlet. Remove the 
3 -pin plug supplied with the product and  wire direct 
into the fused outlet. The Brown wire must be connected 
to the terminal marked L or coloured red. The Blue wire 
must be connected to the terminal marked N or coloured 
black.
Using this method means the kit will be controlled via 

a wall switch. If in doubt please consult a qualified 

electrician.

4) Ensure cables are routed to avoid accidental damage 
or hazard.

Installation

1) Lay out/ measure the positions of the head units as 
desired. Ensure cables are routed to avoid accident or 
damage occurring. Cables can be taped to mounting 
surface after installation.

2) Each head unit is supplied with 1m of cable. The 
cable from the driver to connection box is 2.5m long. 
The head units can be laid out in many positions using 
different combinations of heads and connector cables. 
See diagram overleaf for example layouts and choose 
one to suit your requirements.

3) Attach heads in position using either the supplied 
screws and clips or self adhesive pads.

4) Fix connection box to mounting surface using 
supplied adhesive pad. Connect all heads to the 
connection box, route loom to desired power source. 
(240V mains socket) Again taking care not to create 
a trip hazard. Cables can be tidied and secured to 
the mounting surface using tape or small clips (not 
supplied).

5) Connect loom to driver. Check all connections are 
tight.

6) Plug in and test.

7) Your lights are now ready for use.
