INSTRUCTIONS FOR
INSTALLATION AND OPERATION

MOTORIZED ZOOM LENSES (M, MS, AND AC SERIES)

1. INTRODUCTION

The information in this instruction
manual covers the installation, opera-
tion, and maintenance of the following
Vicon lenses:

M Series Motorized Lenses

MS Series Motorized Lenses
with Spot Filter

AC Series Motorized Lenses
with

 and Spot Filter

These units must be installed by qualified

personnel using approved materials in

conformance with national, state, and lo-
cal electrical codes.

The standard motorized zoom lenses

(model number suffix M) feature motor-

ized zoom, focus, and iris. Lenses with
the MS suffix are equipped with a neu-
tral-density spot filter to permit use in a
wide range of lighting conditions. With

Product specifications subject to change without notice.

this lens, a sensitive camera can operate
effectively in both partial darkness and

high-light-level conditions.

Lenses with the AC suffix have elec-
tronic circuitry for automatic iris control,

as well as the spot filter. This additional

feature provides optimum viewing con-
trast regardless of light conditions or
brightness variations within the scene.

Each of these models are also available
with a preset-position option. This con-
sists of potentiometers built into the lens
that provide position feedback informa-
tion for zoom and focus to an appropriate
control unit.

These lenses may be powered with

9   12 VDC power from either the

camera or from a model VPS- 12 DC
Power Supply.
