Configuration of PRTxxEM/MF series reader for autonomous operation

In case of reader without keypad:
Prepare two
EM 125 kHz
standard cards with any number for
PRTxxEM
reader and two
Mifare
standard cards with any number
for
PRTxxMF
reader to be used in further programming.
The first step in configuration of reader is selection of operating mode.
1. Procedure for programming operating mode (code 030) as well as Master and Installer users
1.1.
Remove all connections from CLK, IN1 and RTS lines.
1.2.
Connect CLK (green wire) with IN1 (yellow wire).
1.3.
Restart the reader (switch power supply off and on).
1.4.
When LED OPEN (green) blinks, disconnect CLK and IN1 lines.
1.5.
When LED SYSTEM (orange) blinks enter three digits corresponding to the code of required operating mode. Each digit corresponds
to the number of card readings:
•
read the card 10 times and wait for double beep or press
0
(the first digit) ,
•
read the card 3 times and wait for double beep or press
3
(the second digit) ,
•
read the card 10 times and wait for double beep or press
0
(the third digit).
1.6.
Enter PIN and then press

in order to assign PIN to Master user. In case of readers without keypad this step is omitted.
1.7.
Read the same card once again in order to assign the card to Master user or skip by pressing
#
.
1.8.
Enter PIN and then press
#
in order to assign PIN to Installer user. In case of readers without keypad this step is omitted.
1.9.
Read the second card in order to assign the card to Installer user or skip by pressing
#
.
1.10.
Procedure is finished and the reader restarts automatically with new settings.
2. Programming of users
User programming mode can be started by means of Master user card or PIN and such mode is dedicated to management of reader users.
2.1.
Enter Master user PIN and press

2.2.1.
In order to add Normal user with PIN:

again, then enter PIN and press

in order to use command [11] Add Normal user with PIN.
2.2.2.
In order to add Normal user(s) with card(s):

in order to use command [12] Add Normal users with cards.
In case of reader without keypad, read Master user card once, wait for double beep and read Master user card twice and again wait for double
beep (this way, command [12] Add Normal users with cards is activated). Read cards for all users and then wait approx. 20 sec., then the
reader returns to programming mode with no command selected. In order to cancel programming mode, press
#
or read Master user card
12 times. Otherwise the reader shall automatically cancel programming mode after 120 sec. timeout.

When programming mode is activated then LED OPEN (green) and LED STATUS (red) are on.
