Painkillers reduce the sensitivity to heat. Do not use this appliance

45 cm from flammable objects and walls.

Do not fall asleep during treatment.

If the mains cord of the appliance is damaged, it may only be replaced
by a service centre authorised by Philips in order to avoid hazardous
situations.

The effect of the Infraphil

.

The Infraphil produces infrared light, which penetrates deeply into the skin.
This heats the skin, dilating the blood vessels and thus stimulating blood
circulation.

The blood transports the substances necessary for rebuilding and
nourishing the body's tissues more rapidly, while at the same time waste
substances are removed more quickly.

These features make the Infraphil extremely suitable for therapeutic as well
as cosmetic use.

Therapeutic applications

Infrared light can be used to treat muscular pains (fig. 4 and 5) and
(common) colds (fig. 6).

If there is no improvement after 6-8 treatments, stop using the appliance
and consult your doctor.
Do not use the appliance if you have a swelling or an inflammation, as
heat could aggravate the complaints. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

Cosmetic applications

B

Remove all make-up from your face before treatment to ensure optimal
results.

The Infraphil keeps your facial skin healthy and clean because of its
stimulating effect on the blood circulation.

Infrared light opens the pores of the skin. This will allow better cleaning of
the skin.

As a result of the infrared light, creams or other skincare products are
absorbed better and more quickly by the skin.

Using the appliance

.

Distance and beam adjustment

Distance between the body and the appliance:

When treating muscular pains, the distance between the lamp and the area
to be treated must be approx. 20 cm.The heat should feel comfortable on
the skin.

When treating colds the distance between the face and the appliance must
be approx. 35 cm.

Aim the beam of infrared light at the part of the body to be treated

Duration of treatment

The duration of the treatment depends on the person to be treated and
the type of use. We recommend a few short treatments a day, e.g.
2 treatments of 15 minutes.

B

Practice has shown that a few short treatments a day produce a better
result than one longer treatment.

Switch the appliance on by inserting the plug into a wall socket.

Storage

Allow the appliance to cool down for a few minutes before you put it away.

Store the cord by winding it onto the cord storage facility (fig. 7).
