Care and Maintenance of your ACS In-Ear Monitors

It is important that you read these notes to ensure longevity
of your custom in-ear monitors. Cleaning them regularly
and paying close attention to their maintenance is vital to
ensure their continued performance. We offer full cleaning
and reconditioning services for your monitors so please don’t
hesitate to call if your monitors need attention.

Cleaning and Storage

Use a moist cloth or sterile wipe to clean the silicone
moulds and cables. Do not allow any moisture into
the cable connections when cleaning. Do not immerse
any part of the monitors in any liquid. Do not get your
monitors wet. Please use the enclosed dehumidifier
following each use (instructions enclosed) to ensure that
your monitors remain free from moisture and store them
in the pouch and hard case supplied when not in use.
Visually inspect the sound ports on each earpiece
after use to check that no wax, skin debris or dirt has
penetrated the tubes. Use the wax pick provided to
carefully remove any matter.
NOTE : The most common cause of monitor failure is
ingression of ear wax or sweat into the sound tubes. This
is easily prevented by regular checks, cleaning and use
of the dehumidifier.

If you need to replace your cable

Your cable is serviceable and may be replaced in
the event of failure. Each plug has a coloured dot
that corresponds to the colour coding on your
earpieces. To connect your cable, present the
plug to the cable inlet with the dot oriented to
the flat face of your earpiece (fig 5). Push the plug
into the mould (fig 6), press the plug home into the
socket in the mould (fig 7). If required gently press
onto the plug through the silicone to ensure that it is
properly seated in the connector.

Fitting

Your monitors are handed, the right earpiece being identified with a red detail and
the left earpiece with a blue detail. From a comfort and acoustic perspective, it is
important that they are fitted correctly to provide a good seal of the ear.

Begin by placing the tip of the monitor into your
ear canal (fig 1) whilst at the same time twisting
gently backwards (fig 2). It is sometimes easier to
use both hands when fitting the earpieces making
sure that the top part of the mould is located
under the flap of skin at the top of the ear (fig 3).

Gently press the mould until it feels located and
secure (fig 4). Use the comfort cream to help the
fitting initially and create a good seal if required.
Spread a small amount around the ear canal tip,
being careful to avoid the sound tubes.
