Operating Manual
Congratulations on your purchase of the Micro Telephone Recorder. Your Micro Telephone Recorder
represents a revolution in telephone recording. The compact attractive unit clearly records telephone
conversations for later reference. The recorder is automatic and will only record when your telephone is
off-hook. This unit incorporates exciting new features such as extended recording time and a switchable
voice controlled system (VOX). With VOX it is possible to connect this recorder to multi-line or electronic
telephone systems. Please review the following instructions carefully so that you may fully enjoy your new
recorder’s functions. Contact information for technical support is given at the end of this document.
NOTE: It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that conversations are only recorded in accordance
with the law of the jurisdiction where the equipment is utilized.

Installing the Batteries
•
Open the battery compartment by sliding the cover in the direction of the arrow.
•
Insert two new AA batteries (UM-3) with the correct polarity as shown in the battery compartment.
•
Replace the battery cover.
Changing the Batteries
If the sound becomes distorted or if the tape is moving slowly, replace the batteries with new ones. For best
results we recommend the use of new alkaline or lithium cells. Recording time with new alkaline batteries
is approximately seven hours. Life of the batteries differs depending on the use. Remove the batteries when
the equipment is not in use for a long period. Dispose of exhausted batteries properly.
Loading the Microcassette
•
Confirm that the unit is in STOP mode.
•
Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment cover.
•
Insert a microcassette with the tape surface up.
•
Gently press the cassette compartment cover closed
•
If the cassette compartment cover can not be fully closed, remove the tape and adjust it’s sprocket
alignment (by inserting a pen into the hub of the microcassette’s take-up spool and turn slightly). Then
retry inserting the microcassette.
•
Before inserting the microcassette tape, make sure that the tape is not loose. When the tape is loose, it
can sometimes become cut or wound around the capstan.
Installation for Recording Telephone Calls
•
Connect one end of the supplied telephone cable to the recorder’s jack labeled with the telephone icon
(
), and the other end to the telephone wall jack.
•
The Micro Telephone Recorder is now ready for operation.
