INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:

 TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER OR FUSE AND TEST THAT THE POWER IS OFF 

BEFORE WIRING!

•  THIS ENCLOSURE INCLUDES A LOCKOUT PROVISION (IN THE OFF POSITION) FOR A SUITABLE PADLOCK. USE ONLY A PADLOCK WITH  

A SHACKLE DIAMETER OF 5/16 INCH (8 MM) TO ISOLATE POWER FROM THE CONNECTED EQUIPMENT IN COMPLIANCE WITH OSHA 

LOCKOUT/TAGOUT REGULATION 29 CFR PART 1910.147. NOTE: LOCKOUT FEATURE DOES NOT INTERRUPT THE POWER SUPPLIED  

TO THE SWITCH WITHIN THE ENCLOSURE.

•  TO BE INSTALLED AND/OR USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ELECTRICAL CODES AND REGULATIONS.

•  IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT ANY PART OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS, CONTACT AN ELECTRICIAN.

WARNING:

BEFORE WIRING!

1. Wire switch according to instructions enclosed with switch. 

2. Mount toggle switch onto box and verify toggle is DOWN in OFF position.

3. Verify that Red switch cover handle is in the OFF position. NOTE: Ensure switch cover gasket is in place. Mount switch cover onto box assuring Red switch 

cover handle moves freely from OFF to ON.

4. Tighten 4 cover mounting screws to 10-12 in-lbs of torque. 

Installation is complete.

FEATURES

Leviton’s COVER-S switch cover can be used with any 15A, 20A, 30A or 40A single pole toggle switch, including manual motor starters. 

NOTE: Switch cover may be mounted on a FS or FD box, but in order to maintain IP66 rating, use Leviton Wetguard

®

 boxes.
