neW naming system: The latest ThinkPad R Series marks the introduction 
of a new product-naming system. The ThinkPad R61 notebook will now be 
referred to as either the ThinkPad R400 notebook or the ThinkPad R500 
notebook. The second character of the name refers to the display size of 
the ThinkPad, making it easier to understand the two different offerings 
(ThinkPad

 

R400  notebook  =  14.1"  display  and  ThinkPad  R500  notebook  

=  15.4"  display).  Also,  all  ThinkPad  systems  will  now  transition  to 
widescreen  offerings  and  will  include  a  variety  of  new  technology 
features.
