SQ-701

Digital Satellite Quality Meter

Instruction sheet

Thank you for purchasing the Digital Satellite Quality Finder by Labgear. By following these simple instructions along

with the Labgear SQ-701, finding the required service should be a breeze. This instrument is designed to detect the

services: AURORA / VAST on the Optus C1 & D3 satellite @156*e

Tip: When aligning your satellite dish, the signal quality is more important than the signal level!

1.  Connect the SQ-701 as displayed above. You can use

either your set top box or external battery box for

      power.

Note: if  using a set top box, ensure the box is

switched on and the channel is selected to the

      correct service required.

If you know the type of LNB (LO– 10700 or 11300)

press the LO button to the required setting. If you

unsure of the LNB setting, it should be labeled the

      LNB.

      To know what setting has been selected;

1- “beep” is for position 1, 10700 LO
2- “beeps” is for position 2, 11300 LO

         Position 3 & 4 are unused.

Note; the LNB LO button always defaults

to position 1-10700 LO when switched on. This

is the most common LNB setting.

Finding the Aurora / VAST service really is

      plug & play.

2.   Set up your dish, pointing it to the angle

relative to your position on the graph below.

-The BLACK line represents the dish's elevation
      -The

RED line represents the compass bearing

-The GREEN line represents the LNB skew

3.   Using the black lines on the graph, set the elevation

on the dish. For example: in Melbourne the elevation

      would be approximately 45 degrees.
