You have purchased the finest Intermediate 18 Degree
Containment Seat Kit available. These components (when
installed correctly) are designed to reduce injury-producing
movement of the upper body and head during a racing
impact, but no device or component can prevent all injuries
that may occur in auto racing.
Auto racing remains a very

SETTING THE HEAD RESTRAINT
.
You have the choice of four (4), (5 on 88185), different vertical positions, and four (4) different horizontal positions, which can be
used to set the head restraint position. Head can also be rotated down at front.
Step 1
– setting the head restraint vertically.
You have the choice of four (4),
(5 on 88185), different vertical positions, (see photo #1) that can be used to set the head
restraint position.
Ideally you want the head restraint positioned level with the driver’s cheekbone, (see photo #3). With the seat
cover installed, have the driver look to the left and to the right to ensure that their peripheral vision is not obstructed. If peripheral
vision is obstructed adjust accordingly. With the restraint at the proper height fasten the head restraint to the seat using the two
connector brackets and bolts, nuts and washers supplied. Use pre-punched holes and three (3) of
the 5/16” x ¾” bolts, flange
nuts and three (3) washers provided for each side.
Step 2
– setting the head restraint horizontally
You have the choice of four (4) different horizontal positions, (see photo #2) that can be used to set the head restraint position.
Ideally you want the head restraint as close to the back of helmet as possible. This is a driver preference; adjust so driver is
comfortable with head position. With the restraint in comfortable position fasten head to connector brackets using two (2) of the
5/16” x ¾” bolts, flange nuts and two (2) washers provided for each side. Use pre punched holes only.
To make alignment easier do not tighten bolts until they are all in place. With all bolts in place you now have the option of
rotating front of restraint down for additional peripheral vision.
Torque
all of the 5/16” bolts (10 in total) to 20ft. lbs.
NOTE: Re torque after each race.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
For the bottom we recommend that you use no less than two (2) 5/16"(8mm) bolts directly through the bottom to frame, (spread
the bolts out as far as possible to distribute the load). For the back we recommend no less than three (3) 5/16" (8mm) bolts
using the mounting area in the shoulder box of the seat, (see photo #4). We also make a bracket for this
if seat can’t be mounted
solid to roll cage, NEVER mount to sheet metal. The part number for the rear bracket is 99208. (see image below)
Be sure to check with your sanctioning body and/or track for their rules and regulations on seat mounting.
If you are not qualified to perform such fabrication have the installation done by an expert familiar with the
requirements of such installation.
