Pre-Operation (continued)

3.

– Use to convert angles to different units. Push to change the display units from degrees (°) to pitch

(in/ft) to slope (%). Pitch readings are in 1/8 in/ft increments. Plus and minus signs indicate that the pitch is

slightly more (+) or slightly less (–) than the pitch shown on the display.

4.  Reset

 – Absolute/Relative Angle Conversion button. When the level is turned on, it will be on absolute angle

mode. To change to relative angle, press the Reset button. If you want to use the absolute angle again, turn off

the level and power it on again.

5.  LCD Display

 – The display reads normally when the level is upside down. Once you turn on the tool, the first

display is the temperature (in Fahrenheit). After about two seconds, it will automatically display the absolute

angle in degrees.

6.  Working Base

 – When you lay your digital toolbox level on a flat surface, ensure that its working base is placed

firmly on the working surface.

7.  Vial

 – When using the Digital Level to check level or plumb of the working surface, you can measure the surface

by observing whether the bubble of the vial is in the center. You can use this function without batteries.

8.  Battery Compartment

 – Holds two AAA batteries.

9.  Hanging Hole

 – Hang the tool here for storage purposes.

SCREEN ICONS

Up/Down Indicator

 – Zero Line (0°) always indicates the level

position. The bias and the right arrow indicate up or down, away

from the level (0°).

Battery Capacity Icon

 – Indicates the power remaining in

the batteries. Replace batteries if the black power bar has

disappeared.

Beeper Icon

 – When the beeper function is active, this icon will

appear on the screen.

Hold Icon

 – When the display reading is frozen, the “H” will blink.

ABSOLUTE ANGLE MEASUREMENT

1.  Lay the digital level on a surface, ensuring the base sits flat against the surface. The level has two magnets

in the bottom to secure it to steel surfaces. If necessary, you can turn the digital level upside down during

measuring. The display will continue to read normally.

2.  Once you turn the level on, the display figure indicates the absolute angle between the level and the working

surface.

3.  While the angle changes, the bias on the display shows the tilt trend of the tool while the right arrow points

upward or downward.

4.  To activate the beeper, push the

On/   /Off

button. To deactivate, push it one more time.

5.  To change the display units for the measured angle, see the Changing the Display Units in the Operation section.

RELATIVE ANGLE MEASUREMENT

1.  Lay the digital level on the surface.
2.  Push the

Reset

button. The display reads 0.0°, while its top left corner shows the zero line. Move it to another

working surface, and the relative angle between the two working surfaces will be displayed.

3.  To change the display units for the measured angle, see Changing the Display Units in the Operation section.
4.  To return to absolute angle measurement, turn off the level and power it on again.

Maintenance

This digital level has been designed to be a low maintenance tool. However, in order to maintain its

performance, you must always follow these simple directions. Careful use and maintenance will extend

the digital level’s useful life and prolong its accuracy.

If the level is splashed with mortar or other construction site residue, simply wipe clean with a
damp cloth. DO NOT immerse the level in water.

Aluminum surfaces can be cleaned with a non–abrasive cleaning powder.

Store the level away from extreme temperatures below 20° F (–6° C) or higher than 140° F (60° C).

Your level is a precision instrument and requires reasonable care and handling. If the level has
been dropped or severely jarred, it can seriously affect the precision of the level.

When the black power bar inside the battery icon disappears, turn the unit off and change the
batteries.
