Instruction Sheet

User Instructions

Please read these instructions fully before assembling
and fitting the Bed Grab Rail to the bed.

Item Description

An ultra sturdy bed grab rail, offering stability and confidence
to those that have difficulty getting into and out of bed.
The height adjustable frame can be positioned to suit virtually
any divan style bed. Two legs rest upon the floor and the
frame is secured into place via the three colour coded webbing
straps provided, ensuring minimal movement when in use.

To assemble the Bed Grab Rail

First determine the top side of the base frame by laying the
short coloured lengths of webbing outwards (already fitted to
the frame base). The adjustment buckles should be uppermost.

The handle tube has four holes in one side. Remove the grey
sleeves from the end of the handle if necessary and push the
legs of the handle into tubes on the front of the base frame
ensuring that the holes are facing away from the base frame.
Replace the two grey sleeves onto the ends of the handle tubes.

Adjusting the Bed Grab Rail to suit the bed

The Bed Grab Rail has the option of being fitted with legs
or not. It is recommended that the product is used with the
legs fitted for maximum support. The legs are suitable for
use with all standard height beds. Do not use the legs if the
Bed Grab Rail is to be fitted to a high bed or one that has
been raised up.

Assembling the Bed Grab Rail with the legs

To fit the legs, slide each leg into the handle with the holes
to the front. Remove the mattress from the bed and place
the Bed Grab Rail on the bed base. Align the holes in the
leg with the holes in the handle so that the rubber feet are
either touching or are just above the floor. Push the pin
clips through the aligned holes to secure the legs in place.
Push down on the top of the handle until the rubber feet
touch the floor.  Screw the tri-cornered thumb screws into
the threaded holes on the front of the base frame fixing
tubes to clamp the handle in place.

Assembling the Bed Grab Rail without the legs

If the legs are not long enough to suit the bed the handle
can be locked in place to give the necessary support.
With the legs removed push the pin clips into the redundant
lower holes in the handle. With the top edge of the pin clips
positioned just below the fitting tubes on the base frame,
a second set of holes in the handle tube will be aligned with
the threaded holes in the fixing tubes. Look through the
threaded holes to ensure the holes are aligned and then
screw the tri-cornered thumb screws into the threaded holes
on the front of the base frame fixing tubes. The screws locate
all the way in, until the head of the screws are touching the
fixing tubes. If they do not then the holes were not aligned
and the screws should be loosened and handle tube
repositioned as necessary.

Fitting the Bed Grab Rail to the bed

If not already done, remove the mattress from the bed and
place the Bed Grab Rail on the bed base.

Position the Bed Grab Rail where it is required. The Bed
Grab Rail is supplied with a full set of webbing straps to fully
secure the product to the bed base. There are two shorter
green straps and one longer blue strap. These should be
passed around the width and length of the bed respectively
and then clipped into the corresponding coloured buckles
on the short lengths of webbing that are already fitted to
the base frame. The straps are purposefully long to assist
in passing them under the bed. When the straps have been
clipped into place the free ends of the straps can be pulled
to tighten the straps. Adjust the position of the Bed Grab Rail
if required, check the Bed Grab Rail is fully secured and
replace the mattress.
