GETTING STARTEd

•  Remove all packing material and, if applicable, any stickers from the 

product; remove and save literature.

•  For additional information go to www.georgeforemancooking.com.
•  Wash shallow griddle pan in hot soapy water, rinse and dry 

thoroughly.

Note:

 Although the pan is dishwasher-safe, we recommend hand 

washing to preserve its appearance. In the dishwasher, the metal may 

get a cloudy film; this film will not affect the performance.

ATTACHING THE SHALLOw GRIddLE PAN
Important: your grill should always be used with 2 plates securely 

attached. Always attach the cross-hatch grill top plate or Panini top 

plate when using the shallow griddle pan.

1.  To attach the top plate, pull out on 

both release handles, set the plate flat 

against the inside frame and release 

the handles

2.  Repeat with the shallow griddle pan 

for the bottom plate

3.  Move the adjustable slope switch on 

the back right side of the grill back, so 

the grill is in the flat position

Important: when using the shallow 

griddle pan, always make sure grill is 

completely flat.
Note:

 When cooking in the flat position, 

it is not necessary to set the drip tray in 

front of the grill.

USING yOUR SHALLOw GRIddLE PAN

1.  Plug in the grill and press the power button to turn on.
2.  Set your desired cooking temperature and allow grill to preheat for at 

least 5 minutes.

3.  Using a pot holder, carefully open the preheated grill.
4.  Place food to be cooked in the shallow griddle pan. 

Note:

 Do not overload the cooking plate.

5.  Close the grill cover.

Important: do not leave the appliance unattended during use.

6.  Set the countdown timer to cook for your desired time. A signal will 

sound once cooking is complete.

7.  Using a pot holder, carefully open the grill cover.
8.  When finished cooking, remove food from the shallow griddle pan 

using a plastic spatula or another non-metallic utensil. 

Note:

 Always use heatproof plastic, silicone or wood utensils to avoid 

scratching the nonstick surface. Never use metal skewers, tongs, forks or 

knives.
9.  Press the power button and unplug to turn the grill off.

Care and Cleaning

CLEANING THE SHALLOw GRIddLE PAN

1.  Before cleaning, unplug grill from wall outlet and allow to cool.

Caution: do not remove the plates while the appliance is hot.  Always 

allow them to cool to room temperature before removing or cleaning.

2.  To remove the pan and the top plate, pull out on the release handles 

on both sides and remove from the grill. 

3.  The pan and the plate can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand 

with hot, soapy water.

Note:

 Dishwasher detergent may cause oxidation on uncoated side of 

cooking plates. This is not harmful but may change the appearance of 

your plates.
4.  Always dry thoroughly before reattaching.
5.  To remove stubborn buildup, use a nylon or nonmetallic scrubbing 

pad to clean.

Important: do not use metallic scrubbing pads, steel wool or any 

abrasive cleaners to clean any part of your grill; use only nylon or 

nonmetallic scrubbing pads.
