User’s Manual Moisture Detector
Exotek Instruments BDD ”mini”
The Exotek BDD ”mini” pin type detector is a very user-
friendly tool for measuring moisture content in wood- and
otherbuilding/construction materials.
Measuring procedure:
Press in the pin electrodes in the
material: – wood/timber: 90
o
perpendicular against the grain.
To measure deeper than 5 mm see 4.
Push and hold the ON-button
Read the digital display. The result is presented as percetage (%)
moisture content i.e. the weigth relation between the amount of
water and the net weight of the material.
The measuring de can be extended by using thin nails hammered
to the intended measuring depth and the connect the pin-electro-
des to the nails.
Material:
BDD-Mini can measure Moisture Content in different types of material
such as: All types of wood, mortar, concrete, cement, plaster and
maisonary.

Moisture content in wood material:
Measuring range 6-60 % MC, resolution 0,1 % MC
Indoor dry = 10-15 %, Outdoor dry = 15-18 %, Very wet > 28 %
Moisture content in
other builing/construction materials:
The displayed values are related to a colour coded scale.
< 17 (Green) OK, dry < 75 % RF
17-20 (Yellow) Warning, survey 75-85 % RF
> 20 (Red) Wet, action is required > 85 % RF

Detect damp and moisture in walls and floors
Control moisture content in materials before any surface treatments

handhavande. Användningsområdet är kontroll av fuktighet i byggma-
terial och träprodukter.
Handhavande:
Tryck in stiftelektroderna i materialet
– trämaterial: 90º mot virkets fiberriktning
för mätdjup mer än 5 mm, se punkt 4.
Tryck in ON-knappen
Läs av den digitala displayen. Mätresultatet presenteras i % fukt-
kvot, dvs viktförhållandet mellan mängden vatten och materialets
bruttovikt.
För att utöka mätdjupet slå in ett par tunna spikar i materialet tills
avsett mätdjup nåtts, tryck stiftelektroderna mot spikhuvudena,
läs av.
