Configuration / Commissioning
New equipment is delivered in «Start» mode and therefore storable without battery lost.
a) The configuration tool and user manual are downloadable free of charge from the Internet
www.pdf-logger.com
and can be installed on your PC.
b) Before its first monitoring task, LIBERO has to be customized. In order to bring an already
running LIBERO into configuration mode, simultaneously press the «Arrived»- and
«Transit» key for around two (2) seconds. As soon as the PDF Logger is put into the USB
port, the following display appears:
c) Put LIBERO within 10 seconds into the USB port of your PC and start the LIBERO Con-
figuration Utility. Enter sender information, record mode, measuring interval, alarm ranges,
etc. The programmed data can be saved as configuration profile in order to apply it onto
other Data Loggers in one step. The use of a USB hub is supported.
Application
a) Without use of the «Transit» and «Arrived» keys:
1. Configuration: Start/stop mode with start delay.
2. Procedure as described under b) but without items 1 and 4
b) With use of the «Transit» and «Arrived» keys:
1. Press the «Transit» key to mark the start of a transport section; transport status blinks
«Logging» and the transport status switches to «Transit».
2. Pack LIBERO together with the goods.
3. At destination: Unpack LIBERO.
4. Press the «Arrived» key in order to mark the end of the transport section, status
switches to «Arrived».
5. Generate evaluation report (Adobe® PDF/A file):
Put LIBERO into the USB port of any PC. The display shows «PdF» and the yellow LED
is blinking. Within few seconds, the evaluation report (PDF/A file) will automatically be
generated and presented in the Explorer. In case the «auto start» functionality is not
activated in your PC, go to «desktop» and open the respective «drive» by double click-
ing it.
6. View evaluation report with Acrobat® Reader® (downloadable free of charge from the
Internet), print, archive or send it by e-mail.
Important notes:
Battery
LIBERO works with a 3.6V CR Lithium Battery. Please note:
a) Disposal in accordance with WEEE guidelines (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment,
2002/96/EC)
b) Temperatures above 100°C can destroy the battery. Do not throw devices with batteries in
the fire: Explosion risk!
c) Do not short-circuit or reload batteries: Explosion risk!
d) Do not mechanically load batteries or take them apart.
e) Batteries are to be kept away from children.
f) Battery life is terminated as soon as the display flashes «Bat.End». The device still keeps
running, however, it must be replaced within 30 days. The evaluation report can never-
theless be produced by means of the Configuration Utility at any time, even if the display
has switched off.
Security Note
LIBERO measures ambient temperature and not the quality of the supervised goods. Its pur-
pose is to display whether an inspection of the product quality is required. When using under
special ambient conditions, the following has to be considered:
a) IR radiation (warmth) and superheated steam can damage the coating of the housing.
b) If it is used under microwaves, there is an explosion risk.
c) X-ray can damage the Data Logger.
Liability
The manufacturer shall not be held liable:
a) In case the device has been used outside the specified temperature range.
b) Any claims due to improper storage and use of the device.
c) Any problems in connection with the temperature controlling system.
d) The quality of the supervised products
e) Incorrectly measured values, if the equipment is operated with unloaded batteries, i.e. if the
display shows «Bat.End».

Konfiguration / Inbetriebnahme
Neugeräte werden im «Start»-Modus geliefert. Ohne Batterieverlust lagerfähig.
a) Das Konfigurationstool sowie dessen Bedienungsanleitung kann von der Internet-

kostenlos heruntergeladen und auf dem PC installiert wer-
den.
b) Vor dem ersten Einsatz muss LIBERO individualisiert werden. Um einen bereits akti-
vierten LIBERO in den Konfigurationsmodus zu bringen, drücken Sie die «Arrived»-
und die «Transit»-Taste gleichzeitig 2 (zwei) Sekunden lang. Sobald der PDF Logger
in die USB-Schnittstelle des PCs gesteckt wird, erscheint diese Anzeige:
c) LIBERO in die USB-Schnittstelle des PCs stecken und das Konfigurationsprogramm
starten. Einstellen von Absenderinformationen, Speichermodus, Messintervall, Alarm-
bereiche, etc. Die eingegebenen Daten können als Profil abgespeichert und dann in
einem Schritt auf weitere Datenlogger übertragen werden, der Einsatz eines USB-
Hubs wird unterstützt.
Anwendung
a) Ohne Verwendung der «Transit»-/«Arrived»-Tasten:
1. Konfiguration: Start-/Stopp-Modus mit Startverzögerung.
2. Ablauf wie b) jedoch ohne Punkte 1 und 4
b) Mit Verwendung der «Transit»-/«Arrived»-Tasten:
1. Transit-Taste drücken, um den Start der Transportsektion zu markieren, der Auf-
zeichnungszustand «Logging» blinkt und der Transportstatus wechselt nach
«Transit».
2. LIBERO der Sendung beipacken
3. Am Empfängerort: LIBERO der Sendung entnehmen.
4. «Arrived»-Taste drücken, um das Ende der Transportsektion zu markieren, Trans-
portstatus wechselt nach «Arrived».
5. Auswertebericht (Adobe® PDF/A-Datei) erstellen:
LIBERO in die USB-Schnittstelle des PCs stecken. Das Display zeigt «PdF» und
die gelbe Leuchtdiode blinkt. Der Auswertebericht (PDF/A-Datei) wird automatisch
innerhalb von wenigen Sekunden generiert und direkt im Explorer angezeigt. Falls
kein «Autostart» erfolgt, unter «Arbeitsplatz» «Wechseldatenträger» durch doppel-
klicken öffnen, damit die PDF/A-Datei angezeigt wird.
6. Auswertebereicht mit Acrobat® Reader® (kostenlos via Internet erhältlich) an-
sehen, ausdrucken, archivieren oder per E-Mail versenden.
Wichtige Hinweise:
Batterie
LIBERO wird mit einer 3.6V CR Lithium Batterie betrieben.
Bitte beachten Sie folgende Hinweise:
a) Entsorgung gemäss WEEE-Richtlinie (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment,
2002/96/EC)
b) Temperaturen über 100°C können die Batterie zerstören. Geräte mit Batterien nicht
ins Feuer werfen: Explosionsgefahr!
c) Batterien nicht kurzschliessen und nicht aufladen: Explosionsgefahr!
d) Batterien nicht mechanisch belasten oder auseinandernehmen.
e) Batterien sind von Kindern fernzuhalten.
f) Die Batterielebensdauer ist beendet, sobald die Anzeige «Bat.End» blinkt. Das Gerät
läuft noch weiter, muss jedoch innerhalb von 30 Tagen ersetzt werden. Der Auswerte-
bericht kann jederzeit mit Hilfe der Konfigurationssoftware gemacht werden, selbst
wenn sich die Anzeige ausgeschaltet hat.
Sicherheitshinweis
LIBERO misst die Umgebungstemperatur und nicht die Qualität der überwachten Güter.
Sein Zweck ist die Anzeige, ob eine Prüfung der Produktqualität erforderlich ist. Beim Ein-
satz unter speziellen Umgebungsbedingungen ist folgendes zu beachten:
a) IR-Strahlung (Wärme) und Heissdampf kann die Gehäusebeschichtung beschädigen.
b) Beim Einsatz unter Mikrowellen besteht Explosionsgefahr der Batterie.
c) Röntgen-Strahlen können den Datenlogger beschädigen.
Haftung
Der Hersteller kann nicht haftbar gemacht werden für:
a) Den Einsatz des Geräts ausserhalb des spezifizierten Temperaturbereichs.
b) Alle Ansprüche, die aus unsachgemässer Lagerung und/oder unsachgemässem Ge-
brauchs des Gerätes entstehen.
c) Jegliche Probleme im Zusammenhang mit der Temperaturregeleinrichtung.
d) Die Qualität der überwachten Güter.
e) Fehlerhafte Messwerte, falls das Gerät mit entladener Batterie betrieben wird, d.h.
wenn auf der Anzeige «Bat.End» blinkt.

Configuration / Mise en service
Appareils neufs sont livrés en mode «Start». Ils peuvent être stockés sans dégradation.
a) L’outil de configuration ainsi que le mode d’emploi peuvent être télécharger gratuitement
sur le site Internet

b) Avant sa première mise en action, LIBERO doit être individualisé. Si LIBERO marche
déjà, presser simultanément pendant deux (2) secondes les touches «Arrived» et
«Transit» et l’appareil se met en mode de configuration. Dès qu’il est branché sur
l’interface USB, l’écran suivant apparaît :
c) Mettre LIBERO dans l’interface USB et démarrer l’outil de configuration. Programmer les
paramètres requis. Les données entrées peuvent être sauvegardées comme profil de
configuration. Ce profil peut être utilisé ensuite pour programmer d’autres enregistreurs
de température. L’utilisation d’un concentrateur (Hub) est possible.
Emploi
a) Sans emploi des touches «Transit» et «Arrived»:
1. Configuration: Mode marche-arrêt avec départ retardé
2. Déroulement comme décrit sous b) mais sans les démarches 1 et 4
b) Avec emploi des touches «Transit» et «Arrived» :
1. Presser la touche «Transit», pour marquer le démarrage de la section de transport, l’état
d’enregistrement «Logging» clignote et l’état de transport change à «Transit».
2. Emballer LIBERO avec la marchandise.
3. A la destination: Déballer LIBERO.
4. Presser la touche «Arrived» pour marquer la fin de la section de transport, l’état de
transport change à «Arrived».
5. Générer le rapport d’évaluation (fichier Adobe® PDF/A):
Mettre LIBERO dans l’interface USB du PC. L’écran montre «PdF» et la diode lumineuse
jaune clignote. En quelques secondes, le rapport d’évaluation (fichier Adobe® PDF/A) est
automatiquement généré et affiché dans l’Explorer. Si la fonction «démarrage automa-
tique» n’est pas activé, ouvrez le «lecteur» sous «poste de travail» et par double-clic, le
document PDF/A s’affiche.
6. Le rapport d’évaluation est lisible avec Acrobat® Reader® (programme disponible
gratuitement sur l’Internet) et il peut être imprimé, archivé ou envoyé par e-mail.
Indications importantes:
Batterie
LIBERO est exploité avec une batterie Lithium 3.6V CR. Veuillez respecter les indications
suivantes:
a) Traitements des déchets conformément aux directives WEEE (Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment, 2002/96/EC)
b) Températures au-dessous de 100°C peuvent détruire la batterie. Ne jeter pas les
batteries dans le feu: Danger d’explosion!
c) Ne pas court-circuiter et ne pas charger les batteries: Danger d’explosion!
d) Ne pas charger mécaniquement les batteries ou les démonter.
e) Ecarter les batteries des enfants.
f) La durée de vie des batteries est terminée aussitôt que l'annonce «Bat.End» clignote.
L'appareil continue à tourner et doit toutefois être remplacé dans un délai de 30 jours. Le
rapport d'évaluation peut être fait à tout moment, même si l'affichage est éteint.
Informations de sécurité
LIBERO mesure la température ambiante mais ne détermine pas la qualité des produits
surveillés. Son but est d’indiquer qu’une analyse de la qualité du produit transporté serait
recommandée. A l’emploi sous des conditions d’environnement spéciales, veuillez observer
ce qui suit :
a) Rayonnement radioélectrique (chaleur) et vapeur chaude peuvent endommager le revête-
ment du boîtier.
b) A l’application sous des micro-ondes, le danger d’explosion de la batterie existe.
c) Des rayons peuvent endommager l’enregistreur de température.
Responsabilité
Le producteur ne peut pas être rendu responsable pour:
a) L’emploi de l’appareil en dehors du domaine de température spécifié.
b) Toutes les exigences qui naissent de stockage inadéquat et/ou d’inadéquate utilisation de
l’appareil.
c) Tous les problèmes reliés au système régulateur de température.
d) La qualité des produits surveillés.
e) Valeurs mesurées défectueuses si l’appareil est exploité avec la batterie déchargée,
