This product has a limited-lifetime warranty when installed
in accordance with manufacturer’s written installation instructions.
STEP 1:
Once you find the ideal location, make a hole just big enough to reach
inside the attic to make sure there are no roof beams or wires in the way. Use the
supplied template to mark the final hole centered between roof beams and cut
using a reciprocating saw. At the 9:00 and 3:00 o’clock positions of the hole, cut
two 5” long slits through the shingles and tar paper and pull or cut nails from slit to
slit towards the peak. Apply roof caulking to the bottom side of the roof flashing
and slide flashing underneath tar paper (Figure 1), centering with hole and securing
to the roof with (8) #8 x 2” self-tapping stainless steel or corrosion resistant screws
(supplied).
STEP 2:
Once the flashing has been secured to the roof, mount louver ring onto flashing (Figure 2), and secure with (4) #8 x
½” self-tapping stainless steel screws (supplied; Figure 3).
