Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the USB 3.0 Memory reader/writer, MR3-K012 Series.
This product is a memory reader/writer used by connecting to the USB port of Windows

®

 PC / Macintosh.

This instruction manual explains how to use the product. Please read this manual thoroughly before using 
the product for the correct way to use it.

Safety Precautions

When connecting and disconnecting this product, always observe the manufacturer’s 
precautions regarding the main unit of the connected devices and peripheral devices.
Do not attempt to disassemble, modify or repair this product.
Doing so may cause a fire, an electric shock, or product damage. Any product damage caused 
by such behavior shall not be guaranteed. 
Do not use this product or any device to which this product is connected in areas where water is 
used or with high humidity. 
Doing so may cause a fire, an electric shock, or product damage.
Before touching this product for connecting and disconnecting, be sure to touch a metal object 
(such as a steel desk or a metal door handle) to discharge static electricity.
Static electricity may damage this product.
If any abnormality is sensed, stop using the product immediately, and contact the retailer you 
purchased the product from.
Use or store this product out of children’s reach. Accidentally swallowing this may cause 
suffocation or a health hazard. Contact a doctor immediately if a child has swallowed it or is 
suspected to have swallowed it.

Usage Precautions

•  This product is for USB3.0. If connected to the USB port of a USB2.0 interface, the transfer rate will 

be in accordance with USB2.0.

•  It may take a minute or so for this product to be recognized by the device after it has been connected.
•  Reading/writing may not be available for some of the specially formatted or old type media.
•  When using media with a digital camera or a mobile phone, format the media in these devices.
•  Media formatted using a PC may not be applicable. In such cases, format (initialize) the media using 

the device to be used. 

•  When removing this product, observe the method described in this manual, otherwise files may be 

lost.

•  ELECOM Co., Ltd. shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any data loss or damage resulting 

from the use of this product.

•  Use this product and media with attention to the connecting directions.
•  This product does not support standby or sleep modes.
•  This product does not support I/O type cards including modems.
•  Do not use this product in humid or dusty environments.
•  Never allow a strong shock to the product.
•  To clean the product, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth.
•  Do not use benzene, paint thinner, alcohol or similar liquids.

Media may not be recognized if multiple cards are inserted at the same time.

How to insert a memory card

Make sure to insert the memory card into the proper memory card slot in a correct orientation and straight manner.

 For the latest information on supported media, visit the official ELECOM website ( www.elecom.co.jp/).

Do not insert the card with the terminal end up-side-down or a different card, otherwise the terminal and/or the 
data may be damaged.

See the reverse side of the manual for the information on connecting to/removing from each terminal.

Explanation on parts and information on the memory card slot 

LED

Red light turns on when the memory card is inserted. The red light flickers during reading/writing.

Do not remove the memory card from the slot when the LED of this product is 
flickering. 
Do not disconnect this product from the PC.
Doing so may cause product damage and result in file damage or loss.
