EAAZPOOL SOLAR IONIZER GUICK GUIDE

STEP 1: PREPARING YOUR POOL

 STEP 3: CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

STEP 2: USING THE SOLAR POOL IONIZER

Start with clear, algae-free water. If your pool water is not clear enough, you may need

to “shock” the does of oxidizer/chlorine prior to floating the Solar Pool Ionizer.

02

/

Starting chlorine levels should be between 1.5–3.0 ppm and pH levels between 7.6 –7.8

ppm.

03

/

Use the included Copper Test Kit to check that levels are between 0.0 – 0.1 ppm. If

levels are higher, this may indicate previously used algaecides, which should be

removed by using a sequestering or chelating agent.

To remove the mesh basket, place downward pressure on it while unscrewing the

screw, otherwise it will be difficult to loosen. Do not over-tighten the screw when

placing back on or it can strip the threads.
Use the supplied metal brush to clean the blue/green mineral build-up from the

copper anode and stainless-steel coil. TIP: Cleaning when wet is much easier.
For easier cleaning, you can soak the copper anode in vinegar overnight and then

rinse it off. The copper anode and stainless-steel coil do not have to be perfectly

clean for the unit to function properly.

This Solar Ionizer purifies and protects against microorganisms by transforming your

water! This transformation into biologically healthy and algae-resistant mineral water

is done using safe and effective low power output. EaazPool’s Solar Ionizer acts as a

percolating charger to generate ions from the power of the sun. This Ionizer can be

used effectively in both saltwater and non-saltwater pool systems. The EaazPool

Solar Ionizer’s ability to generate beneficial mineral ions while collecting undesirable

minerals as calcium and iron truly set it apart from competitors. This ability has an

effect that softens your water.

The Ionizer’s anode is designed to be sacrificial and to slowly erode forming a scale

buildup requiring occasional cleanings. This buildup on the anode is completely

normal and means it is functioning as intended!

/

Perform a weekly cleaning of the copper anode, stainless-steel coil, and mesh basket.

01

/

Float the Solar Pool Ionizer in the water and allow it to get full sun all day. The Solar

Ionizer needs at least 4-5 hours of sunlight.

Sufficient copper ions levels will take 2 – 3 weeks to build-up in your water. While in

this waiting period, you will have to keep algae down by continuing your regular

maintenance.

02

/

Operate the pool pump during the daylight hours to promote circulation and distribution

of copper ions.

03

/

You will see a blue/green mineral build-up on the copper anode within 5–7 days,

indicating the unit is functioning.

05

/

Do not add algaecide or water clarifiers to your water.

If you need to shock your pool,

use a chlorine-free shock treatment.

04

/

Once copper levels have reached 0.2 – 0.5 ppm, you can reduce chlorine levels to 1.0-

2.0 ppm. If the ion reading exceeds 0.5 ppm, remove the device from the water for one

week and monitor the ion level (weekly). Once the level drops to 0.3 ppm or lower, return

the Ionizer to the pool and continue the weekly ion check.

(Important: Copper levels may not exceed 1.0 ppm at any time).

 Copper levels can be

determined using the monitor that is included in the test kit. Once the maximum levels of

copper are reached, remove the solar ionizer from the water. The target copper ion level

is 0.3 ppm. If the ion level remains at 0.3 ppm, then continue to float all the time.

02

/

The copper anode should be replaced when it reduces to a 1/4" in diameter at its

thinnest point. It is normal to see pitting on the copper core anode as it wears.

Replacement parts are available at eaazpoolworld.com.

03

/

Do not add algaecides or water clarifiers to your water. These chemicals will remove all

beneficial ions generated by the Solar Pool Ionizer.
