Safety

Warning:

Falling off a skateboard can result in serious

physical injury.
•  Never have a motor vehicle or bicycle tow you on

the skateboard.

•  Make sure that you can be seen by other road users and

always follow the Highway Code.

•  The product is only intended to be ridden by one person at

a time.

•  Avoid skateboarding in heavily trafficked or

pedestrianised areas.

•  Avoid skateboarding through water, soil or sand.
•  Check that the load capacity of the product is suitable for

your weight.

•  Children under 8 years of age must not use the product

without adult supervision.

Things to think about before beginning to skateboard

•  Knee pads, wrist guards, elbow pads and a helmet should

be worn at all times.

•  The most common serious injuries sustained by

skateboarders are fractures. Practise falling and rolling
without using the skateboard before beginning to skateboard.

•  Take your time and practise new tricks calmly and collectedly.
•  If you are a beginner, ask an experienced skateboarder for

advice about how to skateboard safely. Most severe injuries
are sustained by beginners.

•  Begin by practising in areas suitable for beginners,

not on asphalt surfaces or roads. Avoid places where
skateboarders have previously sustained serious injuries.

•  Start on flat or gently sloped surfaces and at low speed.

Jump off the skateboard before going too fast. Do not
skateboard on steeper slopes than you can jump off
the board without falling down.

•  Avoid running and jumping on the skateboard before you

know what you are doing.

•  Prevent injuring bystanders by thinking about where

the skateboard will end up after you have jumped off.

•  Always think about your own safety and the safety of

others when you skateboard. Never attempt to modify
the skateboard in any way.

•  Start by placing one foot on the skateboard and pushing on

the ground with your other foot. If you lose your balance,
jump off before you fall.

•  Joining a local skateboard club or association will help with

practical tips and advice.

Assembly

Care and maintenance

•  Clean the exterior of the skateboard by wiping it with

a damp cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents, never solvents
or corrosive chemicals.

•  Before skateboarding, inspect all the parts for any damage

and check that all the nuts are tight.

•  Always replace worn wheels and truck bushings before they

fail and cause you to lose control of the skateboard.

•  Check the deck for cracks and splinters and remove them

or replace the deck before using the skateboard again.
Never use the skateboard if the parts that have broken
constitute a safety hazard.

•  The skateboard should be stored in a dry place.

1.  Tightening the kingpin nut (1) compresses the bushing (2).

The tightness of the nut affects how much the truck (5)
turns, which in turn affects how the deck (6) reacts when
you skateboard. How much the nut is tightened depends
on how heavy you are and your style of skateboarding.
Adjust it to suit you requirements.

2.  Remove any wrapping from the wheels before starting to

skateboard.

3.  The bearings (4) are sealed and maintenance-free.

The exterior of the skateboard can be cleaned if necessary.

4.  The self-locking nuts (3) can, after having been tightened

and untightened several times, lose their self-locking
capability. Replace if necessary.
