INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

ENCLOSURE MOUNTING

 

1. Carefully pry the snap-on cover off of the 600E enclosure.

    For the 500E series remove 2 screws holding the lens.
2. Loosen screws to remove face plate & board assembly.
3. Route transformer leads through knockouts to junction box.
4. Connect AC to primary leads of transformer.

       120V: USE BLACK & WHITE WIRES   

       277V: USE ORANGE & WHITE WIRES

       

Skip instruction 5 when installing AC Only units.

5. Attach battery leads to battery terminals. Red lead to positive terminal, and black lead to negative terminal.

    FAILURE TO MAKE PROPER BATTERY CONNECTIONS WILL DAMAGE UNIT.  

 

SINGLE FACE SIGNS (Fig. 1)

6. Ensure three position white female connector with red and white wires from PCB board is connected to white male 

    connector from transformer secondary.
7. Mount enclosure to wall or ceiling. Optional canopy mounting is included.

DOUBLE FACE SIGNS (Fig. 2)

8. The secondary face is connected to the primary face by means of a white connector from ribbon cable, extended from 

     primary board. 

NOTE: 

Remove lens labeled “Remove for Installation”.

ARROW SELECTION

9. Insert screwdriver into slot and push down on handle to expose the desired arrow(s).

 

500E/600E Series

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

DISCONNECT AC POWER SUPPLY BEFORE SERVICING.

•  Installation and servicing of this equipment should be performed by qualified service personnel only.

   

 

•  Ensure that the electrical wiring conforms to the National Electrical Code NEC® and local regulations if applicable.

•  Do not mount near gas or electrical heaters.

•  Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by    

   unauthorized personnel.

•  The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition. Any     

    modification or use of non-original components will void the warranty and product liability.

•  Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.
