Installing and Using Kit 41 and Kit 42

The Model KIT41 supplies 20 AM/FM antenna outputs for car radios in retail demonstration systems when used
with a Model 975A AM/FM amplifier. Model KIT42 expands a KIT41 system by 20 radios, up to a total of 80
radios.

Installation

A complete AM/FM signal distribution system is shown in Figure 1. Connect a Model 975A to a suitable antenna
as directed in its instructions and feed its output to the 4-way splitter included in Kit 41. Use one of the splitter
outputs as the source for a string of 4-way tapoffs as shown in Figure 1, starting with a 16dB tapoff and ending
with the 8dB tapoff as shown.

Place each tapoff where it will be within reach of four radios through the supplied F-to-Motorola cables.

It is suggested that you use all 5 tapoffs in a string, even if you don't need all 20 outputs. If, however, you must
shorten the string, delete tapoffs starting at the 8dB end, and terminate the open output port of the last remaining
tapoff as shown in Figure 2.
